Version 1.1 Release Notes


This is a major update that changes some gameplay for better pacing.

Gameplay changes

  • Wait times when constructing buildings and units have been removed.

    Every building and unit is now constructed immediately instead of taking a set amount of turns to complete. The construction time only slowed down gameplay without adding much of a strategic element. Now the constraining factor is just how much resources you have collected, and the fact that units are built with no movement points to spend. Tha means that when a new unit is built the unit spawn point is occupied that turn, which means you can effectively only build one new unit per turn.

    Some units have had their cost increased to compensate.

    If you have an existing save game with some progress made on a construction when updating to this new version, that progress will be lost unfortunately.

Improvements & bug fixes

  • Map generation: when generating a new map, we now make sure that each city has two villages within range for units that cannot climb mountains (since these are the only units you start out with, and villages are the only way to get more resources).
  • The AI has been optimized: the time waiting for the opponent to make its moves has been reduced.
  • Fix AI unit movement. Sometimes when the AI was moving a unit in order to escape a more powerful unit it would make illegal moves (e.g. diagonal moves). This has been fixed, as well as some other minor AI movement issues.
  • The Water tile graphic has been tweaked a bit.
  • Some other minor bug fixes.
